Palazzo Fiuggi – fo al longer live, better lived
Palazzo Fiuggi in the medieval spa town of Fiuggi, just a 50-minute drive from Rome, is a place that breathes history and shapes the future. This magnificent Art Nouveau palazzo dating from 1910, once a refuge for popes, kings and artists such as Picasso and Ingrid Bergman, is now one of the most advanced medical longevity resorts in Europe.
Named “Best Destination Spa in the World” by Condé Nast Traveler 2023, Palazzo Fiuggi combines medical excellence with Italian elegance and culinary excellence in an incomparable way. Longevity is not simply lived here – it is celebrated here, with a precision and indulgence that is second to none.

Longevity with scientific brilliance: the Fiuggi Medical Concept
What sets Palazzo Fiuggi apart from other longevity centers is its uncompromisingly scientific approach. Under the direction of Professor David Della Morte Canosci, a world-renowned specialist in ageing processes and genetics, programs are developed here that are based on the latest research findings and deliver measurable results.
At its heart is an integrative concept that combines cutting-edge Western medicine with holistic healing traditions such as Ayurveda. No guest receives a prefabricated program – each therapy plan is developed individually after comprehensive diagnostics. The 6,000 square meter medical spa landscape with 39 treatment rooms, 12 medical offices and state-of-the-art high-tech equipment forms the framework for this transformation.
The healing waters of Fiuggi – legendary for centuries
At the heart of the Palazzo Fiuggi philosophy is the exceptional mineral water from the region’s natural springs. Already famous in the 14th century for its healing properties, it is said to have cured the kidneys of Pope Boniface VIII and Michelangelo’s ailments. Today, the mineral-rich water is used in every program – from thalassotherapy and hydrotherapy to daily drinking.
The four elements – water, earth, air and fire – are consciously used here to bring body and mind into a state of natural balance. At an altitude of 700 meters, surrounded by an eight-hectare private park, the oxygen-rich mountain air offers ideal conditions for deep regeneration.
The special longevity dimension
Palazzo Fiuggi’s Longevity & Rejuvenation program addresses aging processes at all levels – from cellular regeneration to metabolic optimization and cognitive performance. Specialized tests identify imbalances before they become problems.
What particularly impressed us was the combination of the highest level of medical expertise with an ambience that makes every moment a pleasure. Bioelectrical impedance analysis, 3D body scans, retina scans and comprehensive blood analyses create the data basis. Personalized treatments follow on from this – from binaural sound therapy and far-infrared treatments to ultra-modern fitness concepts in the 400 square metre “Dream Gym” with VR technology and Technogym equipment.
Heinz Beck takes the Longevity stars out of the sky
The absolutely unique selling point of Palazzo Fiuggi is the fantastic food line. Developed by three-star Michelin chef Heinz Beck in collaboration with Professor Della Morte Canosci. Beck, who has been awarded an honorary degree in Natural Bioenergetics, has created a cuisine here that elevates food-as-medicine to star level.
The dishes activate cellular signaling pathways associated with anti-aging, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant processes. Only biodynamic, regional ingredients are used – and the result is pure magic on the plate. From zucchini spaghetti with ginger-lime flavor to curried salmon with fennel to innovative pumpkin gnocchi with spinach cream: every dish is both medicine and pleasure.
We have rarely eaten as exceptionally well as here – and at the same time felt how our bodies became more vital with every bite.

POV: Longevity
Palazzo Fiuggi – where longevity meets la dolce vita
Palazzo Fiuggi is the answer to all those who thought that medical longevity had to sacrifice pleasure. In typical Italian style, it proves that the opposite is true. Longevity is pure enjoyment on all levels. If this lifestyle means longevity, then please let me live to be 120! (Editor’s note)
The spa area with its blend of contemporary design and historical grandeur is a total work of art. White marble floors, wooden elements, floor-to-ceiling windows with a view of the gardens – an atmosphere that invites guests to reflect. Treatments range from traditional Ayurveda and sound healing to touch-free high-tech treatments.
What particularly impressed us:
the realization that longevity can be a pleasure. That a stay that slows down the biological ageing process can also be one of the most enjoyable. The post-residence concierge services ensure that the transformation continues even after departure – with personalized recommendations and ongoing support.
The programs – whether Longevity & Rejuvenation, Detox & Weight Control, Fit & Well or specialized retreats such as Femina Longevity for women – all have one thing in common: they are aimed at long-term changes, not short-term effects. Its proximity to Rome makes Palazzo Fiuggi the perfect base for culture lovers. After a day full of medical diagnostics and regenerative treatments, head to the Eternal City and experience the timeless beauty of Rome – that is Italian longevity in its purest form.
