Lanserhof – the vision that started it all
Over 40 years ago, when longevity and even wellness were still simply foreign words and preventive medicine was at best ridiculed by science, a visionary idea took the first step: Lanserhof Lans was the world’s first resort in the Tyrolean Alps to combine traditional naturopathy with state-of-the-art medicine.
1984 was the birth year of a true revolution. What began as a bold experiment in a small Austrian mountain village developed into the global gold standard for the longevity travel industry: the Lanserhof Concept – set out to prove that the pursuit of health and iron can be combined in the best possible way and that health means far more than the mere absence of illness.
The pioneering work is paying off: “World’s Best Medical Spa” eight times in a row, expanding locations from the Alps to the North Sea and soon to Spain – Lanserhof has turned a medical vision into a worldwide movement. Here, cutting-edge medicine meets naturopathy, state-of-the-art diagnostics meet proven therapies, and state-of-the-art technology meets the healing power of nature.
The result? A symbiosis that regenerates body, mind and soul and helps to get rid of unnecessary ballast – both physically and mentally. Lanserhof has not only revolutionized the wellness industry, but also laid the foundation for today’s longevity travel trend.

THE LANSERHOF CONCEPT
“Live better for longer” – this classic longevity vision is at the heart of the Lanserhof Concept. What began as a medical innovation is now the world’s leading blueprint for a vital life into old age.
The Concept combines the most valuable findings from naturopathy, energy medicine, psychology, psychoneuroimmunology, chronomedicine and modern longevity medicine in an intelligent symbiosis. This holistic approach is not aimed solely at treating symptoms, but rather at promoting and maintaining long-term health through the interaction of body, mind and soul.
The focus is on two key principles: deep regeneration of the body with a special focus on intestinal health as the foundation of vitality and activation of the body’s own self-healing powers. Developed and refined over four decades in daily practice, the Lanserhof Concept turns the vision of “living better for longer” into a measurable reality – a multi-award-winning method that sets standards worldwide.

POV: Longevity
The healing power of the Wadden Sea: a natural longevity laboratory
The Wadden Sea is far more than just a spectacular landscape – it is a scientifically proven elixir of health. The sea air that surrounds Lanserhof Sylt contains over 5,000 negative ions per cubic centimeter, in the direct surf zone even up to 70,000 ions – a multiple of the 1,000-2,000 ions that doctors define as the minimum requirement for a healthy environment.
These invisible “air vitamins” have a remarkable effect on our organism. Negative ions can increase the cilia activity of the lungs by up to 20 percent and thus promote the natural self-cleaning of the airways. At the same time, they trigger biochemical reactions that increase serotonin levels and thus have a natural mood-enhancing effect. The improved oxygen supply to the tissues also activates cell metabolism and supports regenerative processes.
Maritime aerosol
The maritime aerosol is particularly effective directly in the surf zone, where the highest salt concentration prevails. The salty sea air is not only low in pollutants and pollen, but also significantly more germ-free than other sea air. Inhaling this special sea air loosens mucus in the airways and has a proven healing effect on chronic respiratory diseases such as bronchitis.
Longevity landscape
These findings show why Lanserhof Sylt is the ideal longevity destination from a medical perspective: the natural healing power of the Wadden Sea enhances state-of-the-art medical treatments and creates optimal conditions for cell regeneration and increased vitality. This unique synergy of nature and cutting-edge medicine makes the location an incomparable hotspot in the longevity landscape.
